The future is here, it's just not evenly distributed yet.
I just pushed out CouchRest’s first release as a gem. You install the gem from Github’s repository, like so:
sudo gem install jchris-couchrest -s http://gems.github.com
The current version is 0.7.99, because I’m waiting for the official 0.8.0 CouchDB release to rev to 0.8.0. I don’t plan on maintaining version number parity forever, but I figured it wouldn’t hurt to start that way.
